Another Easy Reproducible Card

It's Sunday night and boy have I got a lot accomplished this weekend.  Some Christmas baking, tree is up, went to see Breaking Dawn Part1 and the never ending housework!

I took time tonight to complete a card with a new cling stamp I received from Simon Says Stamps for the Holiday Boot Camp.  I used versamark for the background which is very faint and subtle.  The sentiment, border punch and cardstock, circle punch are all from stampin up.  Can't forget the corner chomper!

I wish you all a Happy Monday!

The last of the holiday boot camp!

Thinking Friday was the last day of boot camp, big surprise for us cause we are getting a bonus day tomorrow!

Who doesn't love receiving a gift card from a crafty store!!  I do!  So today's project is another gift card holder for yah!  Of course this is my tweaked version.

It cannot get any easier than this 2 circles sealed together to make a pocket for the gift card.  The ribbon attached at the top is actually there to hang on the tree.  The nice thing about these is that you can decorate as simple or elaborate as you like.

Holiday Boot Camp Card!

Hello my crafty friends!  I have yet another reproducible card for you today!  I think this might be my favorite to date!  I love the colors and sparkle because of the perfect pearls used.  These cards are the perfect way to use what you already have in your stash.  I used a stampin up embossing folder, button as well as punch for the snowflake.  The sentiment is from Mr. Cricut Crazy, I used chipboard letters that I had in my stash and my distress inks in tumbled glass, faded jeans and stormy sky.

Tomorrow is our last day of holiday boot camp, boo hoo but I am happy to be leaving with that more knowledge and creative ideas to create many more cards in the future.  I certainly hope they will have another camp in the future.  So will see you back here tomorrow for my last project!

Gift Card Holder #2

Me again!  The next gift card holder was based on a technique that I learned called faux letterpress as well as the fabrication of the poinsettia which has been made out of felt, thank you Jennifer McGuire and Holiday Boot Camp!  So pretty!!

Thanks for stopping by today and will see you back here tomorrow!

Holiday Boot Camp!

Today I have something a little different for you.  Although Holiday Boot Camp is based on card making I took a few ideas and used them as a gift card holder!

The gift card holder is a die that I purchased through Emma over at My Creative Time, if you don't have it, get it!!  Love it and perfect for any occasion!  Did I mention that she also has a co-ordinating stamp set to go with it!!  Get your wallets out ladies!

So the first gift card holder that I have is based on a sketch that we were given in boot camp.  Although it is not a card it still has some of the main concepts.  Sentiment, ribbon or in this case twine and trio of embellishments or stamped images.

Thank you for stopping by and will see you back here tomorrow!

Holiday Boot Camp Card!

Hello my crafty friends today I have another card that I made for the holiday boot camp.  This card is a quick reproducible card.

The woodgrain is from a Hero Arts background stamp, sentiment is from Mr. Cricut Crazy Christmas, Christmas Stamp Set, and the flourishes and poinsettias stamps are from Stampin Up!  I also corner rounded the top right hand side of the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mr. Cricut Crazy Design Team Post!

Hey everyone welcome to Mr. Cricut Crazy's Design Team Monday, I hope you all had a crafty weekend.  I got started on my Christmas cards and I'm off to a great start!

For today's card I was inspired by the concept of one of the cards and techniques that was used in the Holiday Boot Camp, certainly not a waste of money and I highly recommend it if you are thinking about signing up.

I have used the Mr. Cricut Crazy Summertime Fun Stamp Set for today's card.  A  friend who is also a co-worker is returning to work tomorrow after being off on a mat leave and thought I would give her this card on her first day back as a little pick me up!

I have used my cricut imagine for the sun image which is from the Imagine More cartridge, Swirls Embossing folder and a combination of mustard seed, wild honey and spiced marmalade distress ink which has been sprayed down with perfect pearls.

I hope you have enjoyed todays card, thanks for stopping by and I will see you back here tomorrow with another card from Boot Camp!

Holiday Boot Camp Card

As promised I have another card for you today which I created yesterday as part of the 2011 Holiday Boot Camp Series hosted by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire.  Have I told you that these ladies are absolutely talented in so many ways, they are truly inspirational!

This is my very first A10 card which will fit in a regular business size envelope.  I also used for the very first time my cricut imagine Snow Angels cartridge as well as my Joys of the Season imagine cartridge.  Can you believe it!  Also managed to get my imagine update so I am all set.  Never had a Christmas card come together in no time!

As you can see I used my snowflake embossing folder and slightly distressed the edges with tumbled glass ink.  There is quite a bit of dimension to this card as I did use the layers option on the cuts.  To finish things off I used the new Christmas twine, thanks Courtney and I used stickles on the holly berries.  Card complete!  This may not be the last time you see me use an A10 size card.

Looking forward to hump day tomorrow!

2011 Holiday Boot Camp

Well after taking a week off from blogging I think I have rejuvenated my creative juices and ready to get back into the swing of things!

I have enrolled in Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire's Holiday Bootcamp, which I might add that you can still sign up for, and you haven't missed much as it only started today!  This is the jump start that I need to get my Christmas cards ready.  I created 2 cards today based on the inspiration that we were given.  I have for you today my first card which I used very non traditional colors and I love it!

I embossed my chipboard ornament with this yummy color of recollections embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Stampin up and can you tell where I used my white picket fence acrylic paint?  I lightened the cardstock to make it appear as if it were a different shade of pink!  Genious!

Meet be back here tomorrow and I will show you card #2.

Mr. Cricut Crazy Design Team Post!

It's funny how fast the weekends just fly by, I sure do wish they were longer sometimes!  But you are here to see a project not to hear me complain!

For today's card I used the stamp Dads, Dad from Mr. Cricut Crazy and I must tell you when it comes time to Tanner's stamps you must think outside the box as there are so many possibilities.  The sentiment that I choose was "Your Too Cool" and hopefully you will understand the concept behind my using it after seeing my card!!

To create this card I used the MS punch, spellbinders die, SU punch and Jolly Holidays cricut cartridge for the snowman hence the sentiment snowmen are "cool".   I used a peachy keen stamp for the face, brads for the buttons, twine for the trim of HER hat, copic blush marker for the cheeks and liquid pearls for the blades of the skates. I adhered a couple of pearls to the sentiment punch and used my white gel pen around the spellbinders die.

Too cute heh!!  Be sure to come back a little later to see my Halloween post!!

Altered Wooden Frame

Well my party was a success!  Everyone had fun, food turned out great and everyone brought a carved pumpkin and dressed up!

This altered frame that I made was a the winning gift for the best carved pumpkin!  The winning frame went to my parents who had the winning pumpkin best on the results of the judging on facebook!

I crackled the frame and used a combination of IAR, WOC and Recollection flowers.  The felt pieces are from Close To My Heart and the large skull is from Dollarama.

I covered the backside with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape which I received from Julene and then modge podge it!

The winning pumpkins!!  Mama bird feeding her baby in their nest!  How sweet and so creative!

Tomorrow is the big day and I will have a couple of posts for you!!

Home Decor Witches Hat

Good morning everyone!  Today I will be busy getting ready for my Halloween Party!  Exciting!  | have another home decor project for you which I cannot take credit for Nancy over on YT was my inspiration for this one!  Thanks Nancy!

I used a piece of chipboard for the base and a paper mache cone for the hat.  I purchased an assortment of floral from Michaels and of course just had to add I Am Roses to my project.  I used Lindy's to spray a tint of purple glitz to the hat and voila, perfecto!!  I love it and will be keeping it around for a few years to come.

Enjoy the rest of your day and will see you back here tomorrow!

Halloween Banner

Good morning Monday!  Well over the course of the weekend I managed to clean up the disaster in my craft room of Fridays events.  What a mess but having said that it gave me the opportunity to organize and purge.  I just might have to do another room tour video!

To go along with my Halloween countdown I have another home decor project for you.  With all the hype with banners I had to try one for myself!  I am happy with the way it turned considering it is my first one.

I have used the birthday bash cricut cartridge for the banner which was cut with chipboard at 6' and covered with patterned paper on both sides of banner.  The Art Philosophy cartridge was used to cut the scallop circle and circle at 4.25' and 3.25'.  I also embossed the circles with the swiss dots embossing folder.  The letters were cut with the Birthday Bash Cartridge at 2.75'. The Happy Hauntings Cartridge was used to cut the shoe at 2.25' and the hat at 2.25'.  I have also used the Martha Stewart leaf, bat and spider punches.  Black tulle was used to tie the banner together.

I have also included a picture of some of my previous home decor projects on display in my home.

Thank you for stopping by and will see you back here tomorrow!

No Post Today

Sorry ladies I am sorry that I won't have a post for you today.  When I went home at lunch I found my craft room turned upside down.  One of my shelving units which hold all my scrapbooking albums, cricut cartridges and some other crafting supplies I have come tumbling down and had left my room in a disaster.  Broken glass, broken albums and I am not sure what else I will find.  I closed the door behind me and headed back to work so you can all imagine what I will be doing all night tonight.  I am so not happy.  The wooden braces holding up the shelving unit split with the woograin.  Wish me luck!!

Home Decor Project

Hi everyone!  I hope your week has been going well!

I have another super simple project for you today for your home.  I cannot take credit for this as I believe I did see something similar over on the cricut blog.

Love the look of this.  Bought a vase from the dollar store, candle from Walmart, vinyl cut is from Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge and the trim around the fall foliage was bought at Michaels at 60% off.  Can't get any better than that.  I also made one for my mom as she loves her Halloween candles!!

Thanks for stopping by today and will see you back here tomorrow!

Happy Birthday!

Hey everyone!  I hope all my Canadians friends had a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoyed their long weekend.

Todays card is totally inspired and scraplifted from http://www.kerryspapercrafts.com/ she is an amazing let alone talented crafter.  She makes the cutest projects for craft fairs and if you are looking for ideas I suggest you go and check her out.  Did I mention she just had a baby girl who is too cute for words!!

I was asked by a crafty friend  of mine(won't mention any names!) if a few of us would be kind enough to send her mother a birthday card.  Being that I live in Canada she may receive it as a Christmas Card but I sent one out anyone!!

The background was embossed using a polka dot stamp using white embossing powder.  Scallop punch, Fifth Avenue Floral stamp from Stampin up and a sentiment and voila, card done!

I hope she likes it!

Hello my crafty friends I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend.  I have to apologize for being a little MIA but my puppy has been very sick as well as my 14 year old dog so between going to multiple visits to the vets and taking care of things around the house it's been hectic.

I participated in a swap over on YT that bonbonscraps hosted that I wanted to share with you all.  We had to make a Halloween card and a 12x12 Halloween layout.  I had a lot of fun with this layout and am looking forward to a possible Christmas swap that she will be hosting.  Enjoy!

Superman Layout!

It's been awhile since I have posted a layout so I thought today is the day.  It was super quick to come together as the cricut cuts were from a swap I received on the cricut message boards.  A great swap to participate in if you don't have the need to buy the whole cartridge just for the sake of a couple of cuts.

Anywho, my brother is a huge superman fan so this one is for him and his kids!!

Paper, ribbon and sticker was all from my stash.  Still have journalling that I need to complete and I actually just might have my brother do that for me!!
